United Christian Church Community Calendar

 HELPING OUR NEIGHBORS: Please contribute to the "Good Neighbor Fund" to help those in need in our community pay for their oil and other emergency needs this coming winter.   Use the little colored envelopes in the rear entry way.   Make checks payable to United Christian Church.  Please continue to bring nonperishable food every Communion Sunday as well.   Thank you for caring!

November 2008 

Thursday nights at 6:30 p.m.  and Friday mornings at 8:45 a.m.  Study group discussing Joan Chittister's book, In the Heart of the Temple, My Spiritual Vision for Today's World.  Call Pastor Susan at 763-4526 for more information.  The book can be purchased for $11.  Participants may come to either session.

November 20th, Thursday 6:30 p.m. Study Group.  

November 21, Friday:  8:00 Morning meditation followed by Study group.

November 22, Saturday - 10.00 a.m.  Gather at the LIA Building in the morning to prepare for tomorrow's Annual Thanksgiving dinner - Please contact Brian Demers to find out what you can contribute. Please bring your own peelers, knives and cutting board.   -------  7:00 p.m.  EVENING CONCERT, featuring stories of neighbors helping neighbors by Diane O'Brien, a string trio of Jack Silverio, Greg Dorr and Logan Sampson, organist Dorothy Koski, the Wing and a Prayer Choir, and a sing-along.  The church is collecting warm clothing, canned goods, and cash for the Good Neighbors fund.  Please bring a contribution for this cause.

November 23, Sunday:  9:30 a.m. Worship.  Noon:  ANNUAL THANKSGIVING DINNER for those who live alone or have a hard time getting out in Lincolnville.  If you would like to be invited or know someone who might like to come, please call Pastor Susan at 763-4526. 

November 27, Thursday:  THANKSGIVING DAY 

November 29, Saturday:  CRAFT FAIR at the Community Building. 

November 30, Sunday:  9:30 a.m. Worship.

December 2008

December 3, Wednesday:  10:00 a.m.  Windward Garden Service.

December 4, Thursday:  6:30 p.m. Study Group

December 5, Friday.  8:00 Morning meditation followed by Study group (See November 14) .  

December 6, Saturday: 10:00 As part of our three-town CHRISTMAS BY THE SEA festival:  The church will serve its annual fish chowder luncheon, food sale, craft fair and Christmas flea market in the Community Building.

December 7, Sunday:  9:30 a.m. Worship and Holy Communion. 

December 11, Thursday:  6:30 p.m. Study Group

December 12, Friday.  8:00 Morning meditation followed by Study group (See November 14) .    Games Night 6:00-8:00.

December 14, Sunday:  9:30 a.m. Worship.   Family worship after the service. 

December 17, Wednesday:  Gather to prepare and give out the Cheer Baskets to the community.  Call Pastor Susan for details.

December 18, Thursday:  6:30 p.m.  BLUE CHRISTMAS service for those feeling melancholy at this time.

December 19, Friday.  8:00 Morning meditation followed by Study group (See November 14) .    CHRISTMAS CAROLING FRIDAY EVENING.  Call Pastor Susan for details.

December 21, Sunday:  8:45 a.m., Wing and a Prayer Choir rehearsal. 9:30 a.m. WORSHIP.   
----4:00 p.m.  CAROLS IN THE ROUND CONCERT by candlelight, featuring the Mount View Singers.  Join us for this wonderful holiday tradition.
----6:00 p.m.-12:00 a.m.  VIGIL FOR PEACE  Come and share prayer, music, poetry, readings, and silent meditation focused on peace in the world.  Light a candle in honor of one who has served or fallen. 

December 24. Wednesday:  4:00 p.m.  CHRISTMAS EVE SERVICE.  All are welcome.  Come early for a good seat....!

December 25, Thursday:   MERRY CHRISTMAS!

December 28, Sunday:  9:30 a.m. Worship.  4:00 p.m. A Christmas Organ Recital and Caroling.

December 31, Wednesday:  HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
