Welcome to United Christian Church
Lincolnville Center, Maine

Taizé Services

Held occasionally, these services include instrumental music, singing meditation, selected readings, and silent prayer. The service is approximately 40 minutes. Musicians come to us from a number of different churches in the area, and we are often joined by people from the surrounding communities who love the Taizé music. Watch the Church Calendar for the dates of future services at our church and others.

About the Regular Services

Sunday Worship:  Every Sunday morning at 9:30 a.m. In winter, enter at the back of the church where the ADA access is. We generally dress casually. If it's not summer, the old building can be a bit chilly, so dress warmly, too!   Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month unless Pastor Susan is away - changes should be listed in the calendar.

Windward Gardens Service, first Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m. A regular service at the Windward Gardens assisted living facility with Pastor Susan and members of the church. Others are welcome to join us; call Pastor Susan if you would like to attend.

Friday Morning Meditation, Fridays at 8:00 a.m. A short session of meditation and prayer with Pastor Susan, in the parish hall of the Church. A study group follows this service.  Note that when Pastor Susan is away, these will not be held, so watch the calendar or call ahead.

Lighting the Peace Candle

In every service since the beginning of the war in Iraq, we have been lighting a candle for peace for all peoples in the world, with the help of the younger children in our congregation.

About the Seasonal Services

Advent and Christmas:  We hold an annual Christmas Eve service with candlelight at 4:00 p.m. and a Christmas morning service.  In place of our former Blue Christmas service, in 2011 we are holding "Come and Find the Quiet Center:" Music and Reflection for the Advent Season. at 4:00 p.m. December 11th, with seasonal music, selected readings, and silent prayer. All faiths welcome.  Please see the Calendar for community related activities besides these services.

During Lent we offer services on Ash Wednesday at noon and 6:00, on Maundy Thursday at 6:00, and on Good Friday at noon and 6:00.

At Easter we have an early morning service at Norton Pond, weather permitting, in addition to the regular 9:30 Easter worship.
